Description
2 harness, 8" narrow fabric loom, American (characteristic of Shaker workmanship), early 19th century. A floor loom without treadles. The extremely fine metal reed is probably a later addition for weaving the silk fabric now on the loom.

Good. Needs new, finer string heddles and new tie-up
Notes
This loom may have had four counterbalanced harnesses or two harnesses working independently of each other, since there are 2 pulleys top and bottom. The use of a weight on the harnesses was probably not the original method, nor are the harnesses the original ones. Crank handle is H.R. replacement?
