Description

Spinning wheel; horizontal, bobbin/flyer on raised table, treadle. A rectangular table rests on four splayed legs. The treadle board set into pivoting bar between two legs. The flat narrow footman connects the treadle to the drive wheel axle. Two wheel posts pass through the table. The drive wheel axle rests in leather-lined slots in wheel posts. The drive wheel has ten spokes; the rim, with one wide groove, is constructed in four sections. The mother-of-all is slotted into a small upper table which rests on two uprights set into lower table. Two horizontal, parallel rods, with threaded ends, connect the upper table to the two wheel posts, and are secured by pins in the upper table. The maidens are vertical. The bobbin/flyer is complete and is designed for a doubled drive-band. The tensioning screw passes through the upper table end. Two short knobs fit into the lower table. Turnings on spokes, posts, and bars.
