Description

Spinning wheel; horizontal, bobbin/flyer, treadle, red paint. Slanted rectangular table rests on three splayed legs. The treadle fits into a pivoting bar between two legs. A flat, narrow footman and a cord connect the treadle to the drive wheel axle. Two slanted wheel posts fit through the table, secured by pins. The drive wheel axle rests in slots in the wheel posts, secured by a pin in front post. The drive wheel has twelve spokes; the rim, with two grooves, is constructed in four sections. The mother-of-all, resting on a collar, fits through the table. The maidens are vertical set into the mother-of-all. The bobbin/flyer is complete and connected by a doubled drive-band to the drive wheel. The tensioning screw passes through the table end. Remnants of distaff holder nailed to underside of table corner. Turnings on legs, posts and spokes.

good: replacement treadle and footman, all distaff parts missing, wire around 1 flyer arm, entire wheel painted red, something is broken off in the distaff hole and projects under the table
