Description

18th century American 40" 2 harness loom. The mortise and tenon joints pinned by wedges are uncommon. The lamms are replacements. The dog for the cloth beam ratchet is missing. The purpose of the perforated shelf on top of the rear plate is not known. It appears to be a later addition. Probably an improvised raddle.

1994: spokes on rear beam loose, bottoms of legs split, tide lines on legs. New wedges: proper right front, lower; proper left front, lower; proper left rear, upper; proper right rear, upper
New dowel: proper left lower in bottom of curved brace
Treadles pinned in place with a broken pirn
vacuumed and cleaned with water only
2004: water damage from a burst pipe
